Paulo Coelho is an international author and famous for many books, in particular, The Alchemist. He weaves the concepts of universal magic, divine intervention and synchronicity into an adventure that keeps you reading because you feel his passion. His latest book is titled: “Aleph.” The word Aleph in the dictionary is described as the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Paulo uses this term as a way to describe the intersection of time and space between worlds. Stepping into the Aleph with Hilal, transports Paulo back in time where together they heal a lifetime connected to the Inquisition. The wounds of that devastating time are still being carried in their hearts at a deep level.

How does this relate to Monday Morning Inspiration? In the early part of the book, Coelho makes a redeeming statement for all of us to consider at the beginning of each day and even each moment. He stops time with his words and ideas. On page 10, he suggests: “you also realize you can change your future by bringing the past into the present. Past and future exist only in our memory. The present moment, though, is outside of time, it’s Eternity. It isn’t what you did in the past that will affect the present. It’s what you do in the present that will redeem the past and thereby change the future.”

“It’s what you do in the present moment that redeems the past and thereby changes the future.”Think about that. Paulo is helping us recognize that lamenting over the past, what we did or didn’t do, right or wrong, is actually wasted energy because it takes us OUT OF THE PRESENT MOMENT. Therefore, staying focused, alert, aware and grateful in the present moment puts us in tune with the universe and its divine magic. Why? Because the universe is always in the present moment … it is only our memory, voice of inner judgment, fears and doubts that keep us from opening our hearts to ourselves and others.

Today and in this moment, wherever you are, stop and bring yourself into the present moment. Open your heart to yourself and those around you. Everyone is moving through this day and time called life in the best way they know how. Let gratitude flow through you. Feel it and send it out to others.
